Another submission into AMOH. Consider this a preview of the upcoming second draft of "The Oaken Throne."
Xerix needed a bit of time in the spotlight, I like him.
Italics means they're speaking Cainaedah, if that's not clear in the work. Xerixs' native tongue is actually called Comundus, but at this point in time Comundus is not widely spoken in the Frozen North.
Bonus points if anyone can name who my inspiration was for Xerix, hint: he's from Star trek.
EXTRA Bonus points if you can tell which historical event served as my initial inspiration for "The Oaken Throne." I kind of half-abandoned it during my last draft, but have decided to bring it back with this new edition.
And as always, tell me what you think in the comments below: I will definitely read them all.
EDIT: Jeeze, you'd think after 10+ revisions I would stop finding things to fix, but alas: 'Tis not so. Final edit for awhile, or I'll end up spending all my time of this little piece.

Are you using MS word? There's a fast way to add an extra paragraph space between paragraphs (which would make it much easier to read when copied to DA).
